Faith In Women was a photographic exhibition and oral history project focusing on women in Trafford, their personal stories and their religion. Celebrating how faith has played a part in shaping their life and work choices, the project highlighted some of the remarkable women whose hard work and dedication helps to maintain one of the country’s most multifaceted and multi-cultural communities.
Social scientist Agusta Thorarinsdottir and documentary photographer Rachel Adams interviewed women from Trafford who impacted on the cultural, social and spiritual landscape, using their memories, anecdotes and personal histories as the basis for eight audio and photographic portraits.
Produced by Curated Place, funded by Trafford Borough Faith Innovation Fund and exhibited at St John’s Centre, Sale Waterside Arts Centre and Trafford Library.
